2024 ROUND Forum and ASEAN -Korea Music Festival 2024 ROUND to Kick Off in Korea in the First Half of the Year, Followed by Lao PDR in November

ROUND Forum is back!

As part of series of activities from ASEAN-Korea Music Festival, ROUND Forum 2024 was held in Seoul last March. Attended by the ASEAN-Korea Music Committees (AKMC) and representatives from Senior Officials Meeting on Culture and the Arts (SOMCA), the forum discussed the current global music market and the upcoming Festivals in 2024.

ASEAN and Korea mark a significant milestone this year, celebrating the 35^th anniversary of their dynamic and evolving partnership. Since 1989, the relationship has flourished, progressing from sectoral dialogue to comprehensive cooperation in 2004 and ultimately reaching strategic partnership in 2010. This collaboration has fostered deeper engagement in diverse areas like diplomacy, security, culture, and the economy.

Lao PDR will host the 2024 ROUND in November as part of its ASEAN Chairmanship. This significant event underscores the growing importance of cultural exchange in fostering harmony and cooperation between ASEAN and Korea. The 2024 ROUND serves as a cornerstone of this cultural exchange, aiming to further strengthen and celebrate the collaborative relationship between the two regions.
