2024 ROUND in LAO PDR: Celebration of the 35th Anniversary of ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Relations

The ASEANKorea Music Festival “2024 ROUND in LAO PDR” will be held from 2-3 November 2024 at the National Convention Center in Vientiane, Lao PDR. This event marks the 35th Anniversary of ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Relations and key deliverables under the LAO PDR’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2024 under the theme of “ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience.”. Hosted by Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), 2024 ROUND in LAO PDR is sponsored by the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF) with the support from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and the ASEAN Secretariat.

As ROUND Festival is gaining its popularity in the region, it sparked an explosive response especially among the younger generation in Lao PDR. The festival attracts more than 100,000 people flocked to the website even before the pre-sales period for “2024 ROUND in LAO PDR” began on October 4. With strong enthusiasm from the local audience, 4.000 tickets sold out within the moments the registration opened.

For this year's “2024 ROUND in LAO PDR,” the Korean lineup features the widely beloved super band NELL and global sensation BamBam. Additionally, ASEAN artists such as Rizal Rasid (Brunei), Chet Kanhchna (Cambodia), Masdo (Malaysia), Bunny Phyoe (Myanmar), Black Eyes (Lao PDR), Taiy Akard (Lao PDR), Kaia (Philippines), Nogei (Indonesia), Club Mild (Singapore), Dept (Thailand), and Tien Tien (Viet Nam) have confirmed their participation.

The “2024 ROUND in Lao PDR” will feature BamBam as the host of the event, raising more excitement among fans. BamBam will introduce various artists from ASEAN and Korea and with his engaging hosting skills, and as the central figure of the event, he is expected to facilitate interaction and communication among artists from different countries, further highlighting his presence.

Entering its 5th year, ROUND Festival has successfully introduced influential ASEAN artists to the region and has become a festival where global music fans gathered enjoying the performances from ASEAN and Korea. The performances are broadcast on KBS2TV and KBS WORLD.

The first offline Festival was held in Jakarta last year, “ROUND in INDONESIA” attracted 15,000 attendees, and this summer's “ROUND in KOREA” in Busan also drew 5,000 spectators, becoming a great success of the festivals.
