ROUND 2021: ASEAN Korea Music Festival

Jakarta, 15 December 2021 - Hosted by KBS and sponsored by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea through ASEAN Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF), ROUND 2021 will be held online on 9 January 2022. Under the concept of “Hello to New Normal”, ROUND 2021 hope to strengthen the cultural bond and support between ASEAN and Korea through the power of music to connect with each other. ROUND 2021 aims to provide an opportunity for younger generations from various countries to communicate through music and promote the formation of an active pop music network connecting all countries.

16 talented top musicians across various genres from the 10 ASEAN countries and Korea will participate in “ROUND 2021.” The first lineup from ASEAN will feature SB19 (Philippines), MY ANH (Viet Nam), SOPHIA LIANA (Malaysia), BARASUARA (Indonesia), TAIY AKARD (Lao PDR), KESORRR (Cambodia), TWO POPETORN (Thailand), DILA WITH THE STARTS (Brunei Darassalam). Joining the line-up for the performance from Korea, Jambinai, Sam Kim, Lucy, and ADOY, have confirmed to join the festival.

The KBS producer Mr. Hwang Kuk Chan said, “It will be an online festival where global music fans will be emotionally moved and ASEAN and Korean musicians can communicate with each other even amidst the pandemic age, we will do our best to present a safe and passionate stage by complying with all quarantine regulations.”

Following to the success of ROUND 2020 which won the 2021 Digital Content Award at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union for its innovative use of online communication technologies to engage with the audience, ROUND 2021 will maintain the live ON-TACT (Online and Contact) format for viewers worldwide.
