National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA)

NIPA (National IT Industry Promotion Agency) is a government agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT of ROK. It is classified as a public institution and a specific research institution. Successor to the Korea Software Promotion Agency, the Korea Institute for Electronic Commerce, and the Institute for Information Technology Advancement, NIPA was established on August 24, 2009, following the enactment and implementation of the 'Information and Communications Industry Promotion Act' with the purpose of 'enhancing the competitiveness of the information and communications industry and contributing to the development of the national economy through efficient support and promotion of the information and communications industry.
