Jakarta, 13-14 June 2024 - The 2nd Technical Meeting of the project titled, “Clean Air for Sustainable ASEAN (CASA),” was organized by the Project Management Unit (PMU) at Seoul National University.

The meeting was attended by the government officials and local researchers from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR and Thailand. The representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN-Korea Program Management Team (AKPMT) also attended the meeting.

On the 1st day of the meeting, these participants briefed the Meeting on the up-to-date progress of their individual countries with regards to the project. Afterward, all the participants provided comments on the presentations, exchange views and inquire about details of other countries’ progress and challenges that the other had encountered during the implementation.

During the 2nd day of the meeting, the PMU’s main researchers presented more detailed information about their individual research and project activities since the inception of the CASA Project. Particularly, these researchers from PMU emphasized that the cooperation (e.g., air quality data and health-related data) from all 10 AMS is an important key to implementing the project smoothly and more effectively. Without AMS’ wholehearted support and cooperation, they emphasized that the CASA Project would not be able to achieve its goal in mitigating air pollution and its hazardous impact on health of ASEAN citizens.

This activity is part of technical meetings that the PMU will organize during the project implementation, where AMS’ government officials and/or local researchers discuss the technical issues with regards to the project implementation and exchange their views for the betterment of the entire project.
