Project Description

Through systematic cybersecurity training, the ASEAN Cyber Shield Project aims to nurture the best cybersecurity experts and contributes to the development of the ASEAN Member States (AMS)’ cyber security response capabilities and related industries by promoting good competition, knowledge, and experience among the best talents in the ASEAN region.

ACS Project consists of 5 programs in 3 categories as follows:

• Education: ASEAN Cyber Shield Edu (Output 1, 2)? By developing the ASEAN Cyber Shield curriculum and online education platform, This program will nurture trainees recommended by ASEAN Member States (AMS) as cybersecurity professionals who have the ability to analyze cyber security vulnerabilities and respond to cyber threats systematically.  In addition, this program is including the study and proposal of a system that can jointly certify and grant qualifications for cyber security within ASEAN.
• Competition: ASEAN Cyber Shield Con (Output 3)? ASEAN Cyber Shield Con is a cyber security defence competition/conference in which ASEAN youths compete with each other in teams to challenge their cyber security skills and share their experiences and knowledge with each other. All participating teams can identify their level of hacking attack and defence and get a great chance to establish an international human network with youths interested in cybersecurity in the ASEAN Member States (AMS).
• Scholastic Exchange: ASEAN Cyber Shield Ex (Output 4, 5)? The university students recommended by ASEAN Member States (AMS) will be participating as exchange students (20 students per year) at Information Protection specialized universities in Korea for 1 year in order to experience Korea's leading cyber security education which is supporting research and learning activities. On the other hand, for outstanding students (10 students per year) recommended by ASEAN Member States (AMS), Universitas Teknologi Brunei will support them to continue their research activities through the master's program in cybersecurity for 1 year.

Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA)

Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) is a unique organization under the Ministry of Science and ICT and was established by Korean law to enhance cybersecurity in the private sector of the Republic of Korea in 2009. KISA has been building a virtuous circulation to enhance global competitiveness on the Internet and information protection fields under the 4 strategic goals of industry promotion, public safety, trustworthiness, and future leadership.

As an Internet and information protection promotion organization, leading the national global competitiveness, KISA has continued to support the development of cybersecurity experts to strengthen the capabilities of South Korea's cybersecurity, especially KISA has been operating the K-Shield program to foster top cyber security experts with excellent technical skills to prevent and respond to cyberattacks. Since 2018, KISA has also operated a separate K-Shield Junior course to train intermediate-level technical personnel related to cybersecurity in response to the industry's demand.

In addition, KISA has held HDCON, a hacking defence competition, every year since 2004 to enhance participants ability to respond to security violation incidents and improve hacking defence techniques and system operation technologies.

True to its vision, KISA carries out various international activities in recognition of the need for not only a single country's response but also a common, unified response through a multinational cooperative system, such as CAMP (Cybersecurity Alliance for Mutual Progress), GCCD (Global Cybersecurity Center for Development).

Kangwon National University Industry Cooperation Foundation (KNU ICF)

Founded as Kangwon Provincial Chuncheon Agricultural College in 1947, KNU extended to comprehensive university in 1978 Kangwon National University is as a core national university representing Gangwon-do, nurturing global talents contributing to the advancement of the nation and region.

Industry-University Collaboration Institute of Gangneung-Wonju National University (GWNU)

Gangneung-Wonju National University

 Title 1. College of Humanities:

The College of Humanities aims to cultivate students who can contribute to the nation and human society through in-depth research. Also, we help students to nurture righteous value systems based on new and wide-ranging exploration, rational thinking, and creativity.

Title 2 College of Social Sciences:

The College of Social Science consists of the Dept. of Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, International Trade, Urban Planning and Real Estate, Law, Tourism Management, Local Government Administration, and International Commerce and Area Studies. We aim to grow students’ abilities and qualifications so they can comprehend society based on the information and their knowledge in a rapidly-changing diverse world.

Title 3. College of Natural Sciences:

The College of Nature Science aims to cultivate professional talent who further advance their explorative abilities for applied sciences by completing theories and practical training of the basic sciences. Based on this, students can use their capabilities to estimate the standard of a country and society and the fundamentals for international competitiveness to contribute to human society.

Title 4. College of Life Sciences: 

The College of Life Science concentrates on educating the fields of applied life sciences and developing research abilities. We cultivate students with the creative talent that the bio-industry desires and experts who contribute to industrial growth.

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB)

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) is an Engineering and Technology University in Brunei Darussalam under the Ministry of Education, Brunei, that specializes in the niche areas of Engineering, Business, Computing, Applied Sciences & Mathematics, and Design.

UTB was first established in 1986 as Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB). In 2008, ITB was upgraded from a higher learning institution offering Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in Engineering, Business and Computing to a university, and was then changed to Universiti Teknologi Brunei on 1 March 2016.

Over the years, UTB has signed numerous agreements with prestigious organizations in the country and around the world to collaborate in research, education and training programmes. This includes the exchange of undergraduate and postgraduate students, industrial internships, exchange of academics, joint research, conferences, consultancies, seminars and other projects.

In the current Quacquarelli Symonds World University Ranking (QSWUR-2022), UTB ranked 344 in the world, 40 for Young Global University under 50 years of age and 126 in Asia. UTB is the only local university to receive a five-star ranking from the QS Stars rating, and the first university to have successfully acquired the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certification by the Bureau Veritas in July 2019.
